Hearing well is another important key to decreasing the risk of dementia. Not only is it important to get your hearing checked regularly because with even mild hearing loss the risk of dementia can double.  Hearing loss is the 3rd most common chronic disease among older adults and can increase the risk of dementia by 7%.  It is called the most easily and quickly addressed risk of dementia! If your hearing test indicates impairment, it is important to take action by wearing a hearing aid. Hearing aid use in those who have hearing loss have been shown to reduce dementia risk by up to 18%!
